Additional Information on Two DATA POINTS Used by Temple
These notes supplement the article, “Reopening Plans from BTSD Temple Board.”
Some Temple members may want to research the weekly Covid postings by San Diego County in more detail. The two data points tracked by the Temple Board are among ten triggers monitored closely by the County of San Diego.
As background, the County typically publishes an update to its data each Wednesday. Here is a link to the reports followed by the Temple Board in particular:
County of San Diego, COVID19 Weekly Update.
Within the extensive report, the Temple particularly relies on the Trigger Dashboard for primary indicators. In the example pictured below, the Triggers Dashboard appeared on page 12 of 26 pages. Our Re-opening Committee has identified the two triggers circled below in red for special consideration.
Specifically, here are the two triggers identified by the Board as key:
6. Increasing Hospitalizations. As shown above, the rate was a negative 9.8%, resulting in a green indicator.
10. Testing Positivity. The rate was a positive 13.4%, resulting in a red indicator.
The Board will authorize our ability to open the Temple for services when BOTH indicators rank in the green range. Conversely the Board will close the Temple if one or both indicators are red.
Other pages in the report provide the history and trends of these indicators. The Board is encouraged by the trends, and therefore is tentatively planning to re-open March 20, 22.
