Kenji Sensei on a Buddhist Understanding of Memorial Day
Kenji Sensei provides a deeply compassionate understanding of what connects us each to the other and our loved ones who have passed away in this special Memorial Day address. He turns to the wisdom of Buddha and the two most important figures in the Jodo Shinshu tradition, Shinran Shonin and Rennyo Shonin, to help us realize the importance of Nembutsu (reciting Amida's name). He also explains why the Temple is postponing a community-wide Memorial Day service -- as a compassionate response to the best advice of the health community.
