ALMOST All Hands on Deck for Bodhi Day Service

Temple members are able to enjoy2020 Bodhi Day messages from three of our ministers! Rev. Kenji Akahoshi conducts the monthly memorial (Shotsuki Hoyo) and comments on the importance of Bodhi Day as he introduces ministerial assistant Rev. Maribeth Smith. Smitty Sensei provides the English dharma message, drawing in part from a poem written by Rev. Blayne Higa of Hawaii.

And we are able to offer a Japanese message thanks to ministerial assistant, Noriko Kawai. Noriko Sensei discusses Bodhi Day and the compassion of Amida Buddha that extends to us all, regardless of our differences.

We hope everyone gets a chance to hear these meaningful messages and to continue to benefit from the teachings of the Buddha.
