2020 BTSD New Year's Party -- Now with VIDEO!
How quickly the year 2019 has gone by, and now we are entering a New Year 2020: The Year of the Rat. According to the Chinese Zodiac, people born in the Year of the Rat are diligent and thrifty and will grow up to be very successful and prosperous. Our Buddhist Women’s Association (BWA) had a great year with our hard working ladies cooking, baking, sewing, serving and selling throughout the year. We’ve had a prosperous year and hope that this new year will bring continued prosperity and success for our organization. Sue Moribe, the co president of BWA, kindly put together a wonderful sing-along at the New Year’s party which encapsulates the feeling and the sentiment of saying good bye to 2019. We hope you enjoy viewing it.
Hotaru no Hikari
Ho ta ru no hi ka ri, Ma do no yu ki
(By the glow of fireflies, And the moonlit snow by the window)
Fu mi yo mu tsu ki hi, Ka sa ne tsu tsu
(Days and months spent reading)
I tsu shi ka to shi mo, Su gi no to wo
(Years have gone by without notice)
A ke te zo ke sa wa, Wa ka re yu ku
(Day has dawned; this morning we part)
Auld Lang Syne
Should old acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
Should all acquaintance be forgot
And days of Auld Lang Syne?
For auld Lang Syne, my dear, For Auld Lang Syne,
We’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
For Auld Lang Syne
