Did you know?
Of San Diego County’s 3.2 million residents,* 795,000 are estimated to be nutrition insecure.** That’s 1 in 4 (24%) San Diegans. Of this number, 204,000 are children, 163,000 are older adults (age 60+), and 135,000 of those facing nutrition insecurity are living with disabilities.** San Diegans experiencing nutrition insecurity are unable to consistently provide three nutritious meals a day for themselves or their families. Our Temple will be participating in the semi-annual interfaith Neighbors Helping Neighbors Community Food Collection benefiting the Jacobs and Cusman San Diego Food Bank.
Each month, the Food Bank provides over 800,000 meals to persons in need.
Note: For this drive, a portion of all donations will be sent to help the LA fire victims.
The Temple is the promoted central San Diego Drive-through Drop-off location for March 22, 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. but we will be collecting goods on Sundays until Spring Ohigan, March 16. Marked collecition barrels or boxes are provided in the hallways or dining room areas.
You can bring your donations when you come for service and Dharma School! If you'd rather make a monetary donation, checks can be written to the San Diego Food Bank - a receipt can be provided.
