Temple Members have a rare opportunity to dive deeper into Shinran’s Wasan and to practice chanting under the guidance of some great teachers.
BTSD will facilitate your registration and depending on the number of recipients may even be able to arrange for bus transportation or carpools.
The event is held at the Los Angeles Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple on Saturday, February 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Registration is $40.
Keynote Speakers include Rev. Dr. David Matsumoto (English) and Rev. Dr. Mutsumi Fujiwara Wondra. The workshop instructor is Rev. Sala Sekiya.
About Shinran’s Wasan
The wasan are verses written by Shinran Shonin meant to be chanted. They were written for the ordinary person to illuminate the important teachings of Buddhism. Written late in Shinran’s life, they represent a distillation of his understanding of the teachings and his sincere outreach to all of us. They are
