Sunday Come to Meeting

American society is organized around the workweek and the weekend time for people to formally get in touch with their spiritual side.  Most Sundayswe have Family Services and some special services important to Buddhists everywhere and to our tradition. 

Temple Sunday Services through 2017

         Services start at 10 a.m. at the top floor in our main hall ("Hondo").
         Come early to offer incense at the altar.

Sept. 24 Major Observance: Ohigan ("The Other Shore") in which we focus on Bodhisattva ideals.
Oct. 1   Family Service and Shotsuki Hoyo (remembering loved ones who passed away this month)

Nov. 12 Major Observance: Eitaikyo (Sangha and All Life Forms Memorial Service)

Dec. 3Major Observance: Bodhi Day (Observing the day on which the Buddha became enlightened)
Dec. 10No Service: Mochi Tsuki (preparing pounded rice cakes to observe the new year)

Dec. 31 Note: Special Joya E (Year End) service will be held at 10 a.m.
                  (Most years this is an evening service.)
