  • Triple Gem Ceremonty, open to all Buddhists or aspirants. Formal and public commitment to become a Buddhist, done so by taking refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha.

  • Who. All Buddhists or seekers wishing to confirm their acceptance of the Buddhist path. Guests and attendees welcome, so invite friends and family.

  • What. Public commitment to the Buddhist path in a service conducted in Ehglish, to include silent meditation, chanting in Pali and Sino-Japanese, Dharma talk, and public commitment. Registered participants to receive a certificate of completion witnessed by our Dharma Leader.

  • When. Saturday, September 28; 2 p.m. orientation and 3 p.m. ceremony and service. The service is expected to take less than an hour.

  • Where. Buddhist Temple of San Diego, 2929 Market Street - founded 1926.

  • How. To participate directly in the taking of the three refuges, registration required. You can send an email to the Temple at info@btsd.net to express your interest, or CALL at 619-239-0897 (voice only, no text). General attendees are free to attend and watch. We will contact you with more information as soon as you register.

  • Cost. $20 registration fee: free to all BTSD members or those becoming members with this ceremony.

  • Preparation. Zoom Sessions Wed. at 7 p.m. Sept. 4, 11, 18, & 25.

  • Niceties. Temple offers an offstreet parking lot accessible from Market and 29th Streets. Light refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
