JOIN US for Mother’s Day with a special Dharma Service Sunday morning. Enjoy the peace and calm of our worship hall and words of comfort from our speakers.

Kaytee Sumida, Minister’s Assistant, will be our Dharma leader, with words of welcome. She will lead us in sutra chanting and other ritual. Bill Teague, Certified Minister’s Assistant will provide a message for our youth, and following the service, will lead the adult discussion. Our service chair will be Dharma School Teacher Lisa Umekobo.

Schedule

8:30 a.m. Jr. YBA hosts a Mother’s Day Breakfast in our Annex Hall, free to all mothers and a modest price for others.
10:00 a.m.
Ringing of the Kansho or calling bell to begin the service.
10:40 a.m. Dharma School students excused to individual classes, and adults to the Adult Discussion Class downstairs on the Office Level, across from the kitchen/dining room.
Around 11:30 a.m., classes and discussion will conclude, followed by our friendly hospitality, which provides light refreshments, in our dining room, on the Office Level.

   Notes:

  • Our Shotsuki Hoyo, or monthly memorial, will be held Sunday, May 21, as part of our Gotan-E service. Rev. Gregory Gibbs, Supervising Minister, will officiate.

  • The BTSD Chanting Group will not meet this Sunday (ordinarily it meets at 9:15).

  • Our livestream option does not include the adult discussion class.
