Drive-through Bone Marrow Matching Comes to San Diego March 27
BE THE MATCH — YOU CAN BE THE CURE TO SAVE A LIFE
IMPORTANT SATURDAY EVENT, MARCH 27
Hope4Paul and Hope for Others: Bone Marrow Donor Registry Drive
This nationwide search is comiing directly to San Diego at the Buddhist Temple of San Diego on Saturday, March 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Paul Goodman of OCBC (and his mom) are past Jr. YBA members. Paul has also served as a counselor at LABCC, a summer camp of Buddhist youth. Paul, 29, is a beloved son, brother, and friend. Unfortunately, he recently relapsed from Leukemia and is in desperate need of a bone marrow match. Some of our Temple members know Paul personally and are especially eager to help.
Racially Paul has both Japanese and Jewish-American heritage. But we are asking people of all backbrounds to register as shown following.
Expanding the Registry - All Are Welcome
The more people who register means the more people who could be a match for patients with blood disease in need, from certain cancers to sickle cell anemia. A3M is especially hoping to address a lack of balance by encouraaging people of color to register.
Sponsors and Hosts
Sponsored and staffed by by A3M (Be the Match), the event is hosted as well with local volunters from the Buddhist Temple of San Diego and the Vista Buddhist Temple, this is our chance to diversify the bone marrow registry to include all San Diegans.
Drivethrough Solution — Contactless!
Samples are taken through a self-administered cotton swab. You never leave your car.
Eligible Donors
Best candidates for donation are between the ages of 18 and 44.
