Fred Korematsu Day of Remembrance Live via Zoom

The Seventh Annual Fred Korematsu Day, honoring the man who fought against injustice with the incarceration of 120,000 men, women and children of Japanese ancestry during WWII will take place on Sunday, Jan. 30. The online event begins at 11:30 a.m.

Johnny Cepeda Gogo, Judge of the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara, will serve as a panelist. He will discuss the 48-star United States Flag Signing Project. Last September, Judge Gogo brought the flag project to the Buddhist Temple of San Diego.

Normally, the commemoration is held in person, but due to the rise in Covid numbers, the event will be virtual. Please see the flyer for registration information.

For members of the Sangha who plan to participate in the Temple’s General Membership meeting, BTSD hopes that you can join the rebroadcast of the Korematsu video messages at 1:15 p.m.
