Our Bone Marrow Registry Drive Was a Success -- Thanks to You
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the individuals who participated in the Be The Match bone marrow testing event on March 27.
The event was in support of Paul Goodman, a member of the Orange County Buddhist Church, who is seeking a bone marrow match, along with many more ethnically diverse patients affected by blood cancer or blood related illnesses.
The contactless drive-thru was held in the temple parking lot with participants taking a self-administered cheek-swab test. A total of 15 people ages 18-44 participated and are now eligible to be part of the national bone marrow registry.
Asians for Miracle Marrow Matches (A3M) a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles’s Little Tokyo, administered the test. The activity was co-hosted by the Buddhist Temple of San Diego and the Vista Buddhist Temple.
It’s Not Too Late to Help
Individuals ages 18-44 who were not able to attend the event but wish to become part of the national registry are urged to contact the temple to receive a swab-test kit.
