Buddhism and LGBTQ Issues, Friday, January 14, 6:30 p.m.
The Buddhist Temple of San Diego just received this email about an upcoming Dharma discussion coming up soon on Buddhism and LGBTQ issues. The Temple has long supported Pride day here in San Diego and happy to share the information, which follows.
Rev Akiko Rogers and Mariko Fujimoto Rooks will give a virtual talk on Buddhism and LGBTQ issues at 6:30pm, Friday, January 14.
Youth may find this of interest, but it’s also for confused adults and parents, and concerned and interested parties.
What do terms like cisgender, non-binary, pan sexual, etc mean? What’s up with the pronouns? How can we be more self aware in our interaction with LGBTQ community members so we don’t “misgender” or hurt people? What does Buddhism have to say (or not) about this issue?
This workshop is open to members of any Buddhist temple. Please feel free to forward the information to Buddhists who might be interested.
To participate, email Senshin Buddhist Temple at senshintemple@gmail.com. A Zoom link will be forwarded to you close to the date of the event.
Thank you very much.
In Gassho,
Miki Fujimoto
