Watch from Home or Join Watch Party at Temple
Dear Sangha and Friends,
A special Joint Proclamation Service will be conducted on October 30, 2022, at Gardena Buddhist Church this Sunday at 10 a.m. While Gardena is hosting, this is a joint service for all BCA Temples in the Southern District, including the Buddhist Temple of San Diego.
The service will be officiated by Bishop Rev. Marvin Harada with the support of al Southern District Ministers.
BTSD Board President LuAnn Lee and other San Diego Sangha members are attending in person to represent us all. In-person reservations are now closed. But we can all attend online if we pre-register.

In theory there is no limit to the number of Zoom participants but we encourage you to request a link now if you will not be coming to the Temple.
What Is This Service? And Why?
This special service commemorates the 850th Anniversary of Shinran Shonin Birthday and the 800th Anniversary of Jodo Shinshu Teachings. We are jointly proclaiming our gratitude for this history. The BCA Southern District is hosting this service now, recognizing that most of us will not be able to attend the formal anniversary service in Japan this May.
All Southern District Ministers will be participating in this service and no Sunday Temple services will be held. All Southern District Sangha members are invited to join, and it is not too late to request the Zoom link.
BTSD Watch Party
While there is no service this Sunday morning at our Temple, we will have an informal watch party in the Dining Room on the Office level with a big screen. Coffee and tea will be available; please bring snacks if you would like; we may have a few snacks available in the dining room too.
The service we will watch via Zoom is live and will start at 10 a.m.

Attending Halloween Party?
The Temple has already sent full details of the Dharma School Halloween Party as thrown by the Junior YBA later in the day on Sunday, October 30. We encourage you to invite friends and family to enjoy the fun.
